The name Valiantine Day is believed to be named after Saint Valentine. Valentine's Day is celebrated in memory of Saint Valentin. Saint Valentine was an ordinary pastor, but one day something happened because of which Saint Valentine is still alive in our hearts.
The history of Valentine’s Day celebrated on 14 February, is very old. Actually there was a king in the third century of Rome named Claudius. He believed that by marrying the power and intelligence of a man is destroyed.
That is why he issued a decree in the entire state that from today no soldier or officer will marry. But Saint Valentine did not like this thing of Claudius at all and he strongly opposed this decree.
Saint Valentine started sensing people from all over the state to get married. Due to this, Saint Valentine got many soldiers and officers married. When Claudius came to know of the protest by Saint Valentin, he issued a decree to arrest Saint Valentine.
In the cell where Saint Valentine was imprisoned, the jailor of the same jail told him about his blind daughter and asked Valentin to fix her. Saint Valentine prayed to God and shortly thereafter the girl was cured. When the girl started seeing, she went to the dungeon to meet Saint Valentine.
Both of them fell in love with each other at first sight. When King Claudius got the idea of this, he asked Saint Valentine to oppose the marriage. Saint Valentine flatly refused to do so. King Claudius then ordered Saint Valentine to be hanged.
As soon as he heard the order of hanging, Saint Valentin wrote a love letter to his girlfriend and wrote from below to your Valentine. The King hanged Saint Valentine on February 14, 269, and then it was in his memory that people started celebrating Valentine’s Day.
